Polhemus

Built in 1897, the Polhemus Dispensary is part of the Cobble Hill Historic District, so the whole neighborhood had something to say about this highly visible project. BUSA gutted and converted the grand 8-story building into 16 luxury apartments with every amenity, spectacular roof deck, and underground parking.

One of our biggest challenges was to restore the grace of the building exterior. The first step was to remove the sky bridge that connected the building to the hospital across Amity Street, and to rebuild the hole to match the existing windows. Then the entire building was scaffolded to begin a painstaking restoration. Extra care was taken in masonry repairs, cleaning and landscaping.
